One of the coolest parts of Nintendo's
Pokémon Direct which they held on Thursday was the reveal of the expansion packs coming to
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield: the
Isle of Armor and
The Crown Tundra. With 200 more Pokémon being added to the game and players being allowed to pick up from their existing save files - the issue of the National Dex which many fans had a problem with seems to be getting addressed.
In addition to there being more creatures added, it was also revealed that there would be all-new Pokémon, such as the adorable Kubfu or a Galarian version of Kanto's ditzy Slowpoke. In an unexpected move,
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon
Shield released the latter into the game early, even for fan who don't have the expansion.
Players who want to snag the Slowpoke early simply have to travel to Wedgehurst Station and speak to either Klara or Avery depending on your version (
Pokémon Sword and
Shield respectively) but there is one catch. The yet to be revealed versions of Galarian Slowbro and Slowking are not yet available, meaning this creature won't be able to evolve until the expansions are released.
Slowpoke joins a list of creatures to undergo the Galar treatment including Weezing, Zigzagoon, Linoone, Corsola, Mr. Mime, Ponyta, Rapidash, Farfetch'd, and more. Will you be headed out to add the Pokémon to your collection?
If you haven't seen them yet, be sure to check out the
