As always, Nintendo is eschewing the traditional press conference in favor of the company's annual Nintendo Direct, which can be watched live at e3.Nintendo.com. It will begin on June 12 at 9 am PT. That's not all, and there will be other events, such as the
Splatoon 2 World Championship on June 12 from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm PT. The
Super Smash Bros. Invitation 2018 will begin right after that
The Splatoon 2 World Championship tournament will allow teams from the US/Canada, Japan, Europe and Australia/New Zealand to compete and hopefully make it to the finals that will take place the next day as will the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2018 tournament. Fans who come dressed as a Nintendo character can score a chance to play the game on stage as well during an exhibition play.
From June 12th through 14th, E3 attendees can visit Nintendo's Los Angeles Convention Center booth to check out a selection of games and projects, including the new, and highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. Nintendo says some soon-to-be-released third-party games for Switch will also be featured throughout E3, and there's a chance Ubisoft will surprise everyone with a similar to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Nintendo will surely release more details about E3 2018's events in the coming weeks.
