Hasbro is selling a 27-inch Master Sword built to look like the blade from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Pre-orders open Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET on Hasbro Pulse, Walmart, Amazon, and participating fan shops. Street price is $42.99. The toy ships spring 2027. AAA batteries are in the box. Ages 4 and up. Nintendo licensed the sculpt of the blade.
The electronic roleplay sword plays more than 15 sounds. Motion and impact trigger swipes and clashes. Pick it up or set it down by the hilt and you get the classic equip and unequip cues. Hasbro also lists iconic game music in the mix. It is a kids’ prop first: living-room Hyrule, costume add-on, shelf piece next to other Hasbro Zelda product. The company is also lining up figures of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf as part of the same anniversary merch wave.
This is being announced right at the same time as the 40th anniversary Direct, not a random toy drop. Nintendo used that showcase to stack 2026 and 2027 Zelda product: an Ocarina of Time remake conversation, a Zelda-themed Switch 2, amiibo, playable ocarinas, a 1,750-piece LEGO Link and Epona set for spring 2027, Huzzle’s Master Sword puzzle, and this Hasbro blade. The first U.S. Zelda game shipped in 1987. The Master Sword is still the prop every kid already knows how to hold. Hasbro did not pick the Breath of the Wild rusted look. Tears of the Kingdom's Master Sword is the one that breaks in the opening, gets rebuilt over a long stretch of story time, and comes back lodged in the Light Dragon’s head. In the game you need two full stamina wheels to pull it. After that it still runs out of energy and sits on a cooldown like other champion gear.
Twenty-seven inches is the length of the blade. Official deco, included batteries, motion sensors. No claim that it fuses with a zonai device or fires a skyward beam. No statement that it is screen-accurate down to the decay chips. Hasbro calls it a collectible, a cosplay accessory, and a gift. Look for other Zelda items from the same line if you want a collector shelf that matches.
Pre-order windows on Pulse and big-box usually sell through the first allocation on anniversary toys. Spring 2027 is a long wait after a September 9 checkout.
