Fans of the
No More Heroes series had been waiting, for the longest time, for the game to get a brand-new entry — as
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle was the last game to be released, and that was all the way back in 2010.
No More Heroes series creator, Goichi Suda(Suda51), did reveal that they were working on
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, a new game that is somewhat of a spin-off; while the game was well received by fans, it still didn't quench that thirst for a true
No More Heroes sequel.
It wasn't until this year's E3 when Suda51 finally announced
No More Heroes III, which is expected to release at some point in 2020 as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch. With the game just recently announced, and fan expectations having built up for the past 10 years, it does seem like Suda51 and his team are working to give fans the game that they've been expecting.
According to a recent exchange between Polygon and Goichi Suda, the
No More Heroes series creator and the people over at Grasshopper Manufacture are working hard to give fans the game that they've been wanting all these years; revealing that they are listening to fans and that they have learned from
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.
"
One thing that he was really made to realize with TSA was [that] it is really important to listen to what the fans want. Again, not just to make it a game that will sell, but to make a game that the people who you want to enjoy the game are going to be able to enjoy it," explained Suda via an interpreter.
"
It’s not that he[Suda] is going to be making this game based on just what the fans want, he’s obviously got his own vision of what the game is going to be like, what he wants it to be like, and when he says he wants to make the game for the fans, he doesn’t just want to make the game that they are expecting."
"
The game that he wants to make is the kind of game that fans are expecting and the kind of game the fans want. He wants to not just [...] answer those wishes and those requests. He wants to go above and beyond that and [get to work] putting in the shit that they want to see — give them all this extra shit that they probably don’t even know what they wanted or they wouldn’t even be expecting."
Both Goichi Suda and the people over at Grasshopper Manufacture seem to know exactly what to do when it comes to meeting fan demands with their upcoming
No More Heroes III, but it is also great to know that they still have their own vision of what the game should be; providing that they are planning to tell their story while also catering to the fans who have been waiting for this game to become a reality for a whole 10 years.
No More Heroes III will be available for the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
