The beloved Pokémon Crystal will be available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop January 26th along with many more classic Gameboy. Crystal will be available on the eShop following Pokémon Gold and Silver

Originally released in 2000, Pokémon Crystal is considered a catalyst for many aspects which are considered a staple in the long running franchise. The game introduced animated Pokémon sprites, the ability to play as either a boy or a girl, and the battle tower which provided the opportunity to battle additional opponents. It was also the first in the series that was not compatible with the original Gameboy.

The game will also be compatible with the Pokémon Bank, a paid service that allows players to bring certain Pokémon from the older titles to the newest games in the franchise. Wireless communication is also available, giving players access to Link Trades and Link Battles. The time capsule feature will also give players the opportunity for trading and battling with Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow, all of which are currently available on the eShop.

What do you guys think? Are you excited to play Pokémon Crystal on 3DS?
