Today Nintendo streamed the previously announced Pokémon Direct presentation, which revealed a few interesting things that will likely make fans of the
Pokémon series excited for the content that is coming to
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield.
First things first, developer Game Freak announced that
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield will be getting an expansion pass in the form of
The Isle of Armor and
The Tundra Crown; with the former releasing at some point in June of this year, and the latter expected to become available this Fall.
Like it is to be expected from an expansion pass, both
The Isle of Armor and
The Tundra Crown will bring with them a bunch of cosmetics for players to fully customise their characters, as well as brand-new Pokémon to catch and train.
Game Freak also revealed that the
Pokémon Sword and
Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass will be available for players to pre-purchase later today for $29.99 USD.
The developer also released a separate trailer for the expansion pass, so be sure to check it out down below. We have also shared the the full 20-minute-long Pokémon Direct presentation if you want to check that out, too.
Take a look:
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
