Although some fans may have already expected something like this, the latest rumour that has been doing the rounds lately reveals that Nintendo has still, at the very least, two unannounced Wii U ports for the Nintendo Switch.
This information actually comes from Nintendo insider Emily Rogers, who has successfully leaked real information in the past. According to the information she has received, these two, or more, unannounced Wii U ports for the Switch; both of which could be releasing this year.
In her post on
Resetera, Rogers explains that these two titles are probably a good way for Nintendo to fill out their release calendar; considering that the only announced heavy hitter this year is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is bound to release on the
20th of March.
Nintendo has already ported a big chunk of the Wii U's library to the Nintendo Switch, and for good measure, so it isn't too far fetched to think that they still have plans to release more games for their new handheld hybrid console.
When it comes to Nintendo-developed titles, the obvious choices would be
Super Mario 3D World and
Star Fox: Zero, although some other games like
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD or
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD are also pretty solid choices, especially now that the
Breath of the Wild sequel has been announced; the latter two, however, were not Wii U exclusives.
Again, this is only but a rumour — so it is still a good idea to take this bit of information with a grain of salt. With all that said, chances of more Wii U ports releasing for the Switch are pretty high any way.
