Star Wars: Hunters has been delayed from its initial 2021 release and will now launch in 2022. The new launch window comes by way of a cinematic trailer for the team-based competitive combat game coming to Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
For those who missed the announcement back in February, Star Wars: Hunters pits players against one another in an adrenaline-fueled arena battle. Players will mix and match teams of characters from all across the galaxy and then participate in third-person combat, using skills and tactics to conquer the enemy.
The new cinematic trailer starts off with a duel between a Sith warrior and a Mandalorian bounty hunter. But the battle quickly evolves into pure chaos as others start to join the fray. We see Wookies, Stormtroopers, a lightsaber-wielding droid (fittingly named named J-3D1), an engineer of some sorts who has managed to equip parts of a Droideka, and, perhaps most surprising, a pair of Jawas.
It's clear there will be no shortage of options at your disposal in this game, and it seems the mix and match, customization tactics will greatly factor into every battle. There certainly seems to be some wild options.
Star Wars: Hunters will be free-to-play when it launches in 2022, which means it will almost certainly feature in-game microtransations (probably for cosmetics). The game will be released for Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
