Nintendo surprised us all with their newest direct video and a truly unexpected treat is the announcement that The World Ends With You is getting re-released on Nintendo Switch later this year. The action RPG was originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2008 and won criticts over with its unique and stylised take on the RPG genre.
The World Ends With You: Final Remix introduces a traditional control scheme for the game thanks to the Joycon controllers, but, players will also have the option to use touchscreen controls. The original game combined both control schemes as players managed the action focused gameplay through both screens. The newest version of the game also contains a brand new scenario which is said to get to the heart of the story.
The World Ends With You comes from the mind of Tetsuya Nomura who is best known as the man behind the Kingdom Hearts series, as well as his work on the Final Fantasy series. The game, which is set in Tokyo, sees a group of misfits pulled into a parralel universe. Each chapter of the game sees you team up with a new partner as you race against time to complete your objectives. The game got a lot of praise during it's initial release and is easily one of the most unique RPGs around, there's a lot to enjoy here.
