Astral Chain — PlatinumGames' brand-new action/adventure hack and slash title — is just around the corner, as the game is expected to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the
30th of August.
From what we've been able to see from trailers and every bit of information that PlatinumGames has revealed about
Astral Chain, we can definitely tell that it has drawn some inspiration from the
Bayonetta series and
NieR: Automata — both of which also developed by PlatinumGames — but it also brings new ideas to the table.
One of the things that make
Astral Chain stand out from the titles it draws inspiration from, is the fact that players will be playing as the main character and their Legion, which adds an interesting layer to the hack and slash gameplay the game features.
Nintendo have recently shared over 30 minutes of gameplay footage for
Astral Chain, as the Nintendo crew are joined by the game's director, Takahisa Taura, who reveals even more interesting details about the game's setting, gameplay, customization options, and more.
