The recently announced
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is officially another Ubisoft-developed video game that won't be playable without an active internet connection, joining
Tom Clancy's The Division, The Division 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege, and the upcoming
Beyond Good and Evil 2.
Given that
Breakpoint is a story-driven title that you will be able to experience solo (unlike
Wildlands, you won't be forced to share your playthrough with the AI companions – but you will still have the opportunity to play with up to three "real-world" Ghosts in co-op – the decision is rather strange.
In other news, Ubisoft will host a
Breakpoint beta, giving you a unique chance to get an early taste of what the game has to offer. There are two ways to take part in the tests: registering on the game's website or pre-ordering one of
Breakpoint's three special editions ahead of its October debut.
The fact that Ubisoft's E3 2019 media briefing will be held on Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00AM ET, 7:00AM GMT, 6:00AM on June 11 AEST), suggests that the French studio will share brand-new details on the aforementioned beta tests during the upcoming show in Los Angeles.
