Nintendo and Xbox have been growing closer and closer in recent years, and so it should come as no surprise to learn that Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has now weighed in on his thoughts on the Switch.

"Mario looked new/fresh," he said on Twitter, referring to launch title Super Mario Odyssey. "[The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild] should be great." So, he approves of the games, but what about the console? Xbox has not yet moved into the handheld market, so his thoughts are very interesting.

Spencer said it "will be fun to see what new game ideas come from that," in regards to the fact that it can be played either at home or on the go. That's something Microsoft could very well want to follow down the line, and these comments come at a good time for the company, especially as their Switch presentation was met with another drop in their share prices given the mixed reaction to the console.

What do you guys think about Spencer's remarks? Be sure to let us know that in the usual place.
