Technology giant Apple is reportedly planning to release a new subscription service described as a "Netflix for games" model. Here are the details on the new video game service Apple might launch.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is planning on launching a subscription service described as a "Netflix for games" program. Apple is discussing with game developers the creation of a gaming subscription service. This new program would work like Netflix, users pay a set amount of money each month and would get access to select gaming titles.
As of right now, there are no details regarding the price the company would be charging or availability details. We only know Apple would be the publisher of the select titles for its service. Games have always been the top grossing apps in the App Store, however, the model they use differ from a subsctiption service.
iPads and iPhones have an A-series CPU and GPU, the idea of gaming in the devices in not far-fetched. There are reports of Apple launching a news and original video service this year as well, the gaming side of the business has not been confirmed, there is no official word from the company.
