We have some great news for players who enjoy reliving the good old days of retro gaming, as AtGames has announced that over 47 classic games from Japanese developer TAITO will be added to their Legends Arcade Family, and there are quite a bunch of heavyhitters for players to get excited over.
First things first, what exactly is the Legends Arcade Family? As the name appropriately suggests, it is a family of arcade systems that go from a full-size cabinet to plug-and-play arcade controllers that feature a wide variety of retro games Space Invaders, Centiped, and Tetris, to more recent, albeit still retro, titles like The Lion King and Aladdin; to name only but a small fraction.
For reference purpouses, Legends Ultimate is the full-size cabinet version, and includes a grand total of 300 classic video games. On the other hand, Legends Gamer Mini is the smallest of three wireless controllers — alongside Legends Gamer and Legends Gamer Pro — that can be plugged to the TV, and includes a very respectable 100 licensed games.
As per AtGames' announcement on the 47 TAITO games, we know that all of these titles will be added to the Legends Arcade Family soon, although the announcement doesn't really specify when exactly is it that they will be joining the ambitious selection of games already included.
The 47 TAITO arcade games are the following:
Alpine Ski, Battle Shark, Ben Bero Beh, Bonze Adventure, Bubble Bobble, Cadash, Cameltry, Chack 'n Pop, Colony 7, Crazy Balloon, Don Doko Don, Elevator Action, Elevator Action Returns, Football Champ, Front Line, Growl, Gun & Frontier, Halley's Comet, KiKi KaiKai, Kram, Kuri Kinton, Liquid Kids, Lunar Rescue, Metal Black, Nastar Warrior, Operation Thunderbolt, Operation Wolf, Pirate Pete, Plotting, Plump Pop, Qix, Raimais, Rastan, Space Gun, Space Invaders, Space Invaders DX, Syvalion, The Electric Yo-Yo, The Fairyland Story, The Legend of Kage, The New Zealand Story, The Ninja Kids, Thunder Fox, Violence Fight, Volfied, Wild Western, and Zoo Keeper.
Another thing that is worth mentioning is that all of these 47 TAITO titles that will be added to the Legends Arcade Family can be played in their original aspect ratios, which grants that players will get the most authentic arcade experience when playing the classics mentioned above.
What's more, players will also be able to upload their scores to the AtGames Leagues Leaderboards, which is perfect since a bunch of TAITO games — like Alpine Ski, Chack 'n Pop, and Lunar Rescue, to name only but a few — are already leaderboard-enabled.
