Last month, we reported that Hajime Tabata, the director of Final Fantasy XV, is leaving Square Enix to pursue his own business following the unexpected announcement that the Japanese company has decided to cancel three of the four previously announced DLC character episodes (Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Noctis) for the acclaimed jRPG and end its post-launch support.

Tabata is one busy gentlemen, as he has already established his own studio, called JP Games. "I started up my own company called “JP GAMES,Inc.” Right now, we are preparing for a target January 2019 launch. And to everyone who has assisted me until today–I kindly ask for your ongoing support," the Final Fantasy XV director announced on his personal Facebook account earlier today.

While Tabata is actively building his own development studio, the Final Fantasy XV team at Luminous Productions continues his work on the final Episode Ardyn DLC and a brand “new AAA title” that will launch for the next-gen consoles currently known as PlayStation 4 and Xbox Scarlett. Tabata's JP Games first project has not been revealed yet, but it's safe to say it will be inspired by the jRPG genre.
