Just yesterday we reported about this rumour that had been doing the rounds lately, which suggests that Konami is planning to re-release the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, and Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty on PC; information revealed by a person who has accurately leaked other video gaming news in the past.
Of course, that is only but a rumour until Konami makes any official announcements, so don't get your hopes up just yet. With that said, however, there's another rumour that will make fans of the Metal Gear series even more excited.
According to video game news and technology YouTube channel RedGamingTech — piggybacking off yesterday's Metal Gear-related rumour — Konami has also planned to release a full remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game that originally released in 1998.
RedGamingTech reveals that they doublechecked their sources, and that this alleged Metal Gear Solid remake is being developed for the PlayStation 5, as console exclusive, and PC. On top of this, they also reveal that they were already aware of the information that was reported yesterday — which adds even more credibility to the original rumour.
If all of the sources are to be believed, Konami would be planning to release the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and a full remake of Metal Gear Solid. Interestingly enough, the company has recently been releasing collections of some of their most popular franchises.
Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics, Castlevania Anniversary Collection, and Contra Anniversary Collection are proof that Konami could well decide to release a Metal Gear Collection that includes some of the titles that have been recently rumoured. Most definitely exciting news, if true.
