Jordan Vogt-Roberts is the man in charge of directing the live action adaptation of Hideo Kojima's critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series. The project has been in the works for quite some time, actually; with the movie being officially announced in 2012 and Vogt-Roberts joining as the project in 2014.
While this whole process has been a lengthy one, we still get the occasional update by the Director, which manages to keep fans eager to find out more, while also reassuring that the movie hasn't been cancelled — in spite of the lack of news.
Recently, Vogt-Roberts has expressed his interest in having Oscar Isaac (who's recently become well-known for his roles in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and X-Men: Apocalypse) in the lead role for the movie as Solid Snake.
The whole thing came from an interview with IGN, in which Oscar Isaac revealed his interest to star in Vogt-Roberts' Metal Gear Solid movie.
Vogt-Roberts saw the interview and retweeted it on his Twitter account, telling every one of his followers to stand by for his next tweet, in which he revealed that the casting process for the movie hasn't started yet. What's even more interesting is that he ends his tweet by saying that the ball's in Oscar's court, meaning that he's 100% on board if Isaac is.
Given that Isaac has already expressed his interest to star in the movie — coupled with the fact that Vogt-Roberts isn't even having second thoughts about it — could end up landing him the role once the casting process begins. Isaac is a great actor, and he's got the looks to play Snake. So we should all keep our fingers crossed and hope for this to become a reality sometime soon.
