We may have some great news for
Mortal Kombat fans out there, as the Pan European Game Information(PEGI) board has recently rated
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online — which will be including the original
Mortal Kombat,
Mortal Kombat II, and
Mortal Kombat III.
It had been rumoured for a while that NetherRealm Studios may had been working on a
Mortal Kombat collection, and we now finally have an unofficial confirmation that this collection is, indeed, a reality. Since this isn't an official announcement, however, we don't have a tentative date for the collection's launch, so we'll still have to keep waiting for more information.
What we do have is a description for
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online, provided by the PEGI board itself, that gives us a rough idea of what this collection will be including, and it seems that it won't be a simple port of the original three titles, as it mentions that it will feature upgraded art; not to mention, as the name appropriately suggests, that it will allow players to play these games online.
The description posted on PEGI's official website reads as follows:
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online is the original Mortal Kombat trilogy that Mortal Kombat fans always wanted. Upgraded art, gameplay, and online features provide an incredible experience that revive the "klassics"…
With that said, the
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online entry on the PEGI board has since been removed, but the people over at Gematsu managed to take a screenshot of it; revealing that the game will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
It is worth mentioning that, according to the entry,
Mortal Kombat Kollection Online was actually supposed to release yesterday, so we'll likely have some official news sooner than we may have anticipated.
