RUMOR: Leaked Listing Suggests That METROID PRIME: TRILOGY And Other Titles Are Coming To The Switch

Things are starting to get interesting for Metroid fans, as a new listing on Best Buy suggests that not only Metroid Prime Trilogy is coming to the Switch, but The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past too.

A rumor has been doing the rounds for a while now, suggesting that Nintendo was planning on releasing Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch ahead of Retro Studios' long-awaited Metroid Prime 4.

The main reason why Nintendo hasn't officially revealed the trilogy, however, probably has to do with the fact that they knew that development for Metroid Prime 4 was not going as well they expected and the game would have to be delayed — forcing them to delay the Metroid Prime Trilogy announcement, as well; a game that is rumored to be ready to launch, no less.

According to a leaked listing by Best Buy, not only is Metroid Prime Trilogy coming to the Nintendo Switch, but The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Persona 5 are too; which is something that will make fans of those series very excited.

Persona 5 has been rumored pretty much since Joker was revealed as a character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so the game showing up on Best Buy's listing is not unexpected. What is unexpected, however, is seeing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past — especially since it is a Super Nintendo game that was last released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance.

Nintendo recently announced The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Nintendo Switch, so it is likely that the Best Buy listing is a mistake and that's the game they've listed. The thing about it is, though, that The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is already listed on the site, making this new information all the more confusing.

That said, it is also likely that Nintendo would want to keep fans busy playing other Zelda titles before they announce a brand-new game, like the one Monolith Soft is currently working on, so it is possible that they have decided to remake yet another The Legend of Zelda title before the new game comes out — and A Link to the Past has always been a fan-favorite.

Hopefully all of this is real and Nintendo Switch owners will be soon treated to Metroid Prime Trilogy, Persona 5, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past; until then, we'll just have to keep waiting.
