This rumor is a juicy one, but apparently Nintendo is planning on announcing an HD remaster of the Metroid Prime: Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch, and this announcement can made as soon as this Thursday during The Game Awards.

The news comes from Twitter user @Nitomatta, who seems to have been the first to spot that Swedish retailer Inet had listed Metroid Prime: Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch. This user was also able to verify the legitimacy of this listing, so it all points out that Nintendo are, indeed, planning on announcing it soon.

This could not have come at a better time since The Game Awards will be taking place this Thursday, and Nintendo might as well announce it during the presentation. This would also make a lot of sense as a marketing strategy given that they announced Metroid Prime 4 during the 2017 E3 and we got a short teaser that only gave us a glimpse at the logo.

With Metroid Prime: Trilogy HD, Nintendo would be introducing the series to players who have not yet been able to play these titles; and just in time for them to give us some more information regarding the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4. All we have to do now is keep our fingers crossed and hope for them to actually announce Metroid Prime: Trilogy HD for the Nintendo Switch.
