We may have some bad news for Xbox players, as Deep Silver has officially confirmed that there are currently no plans to bring the long-awaited
Shenmue III to the Xbox One; something that Microsoft fans have been wondering about pretty much since the game was announced during the E3 back in 2015.
Shenmue III is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, and it's been in development for quite a few years now. Initially, the game has since been delayed quite a few number of times — as it was expected to release in 2017, 2018, and in August 27th of 2019.
Deep Silver revealed earlier this week that
Shenmue III was being delayed yet again, and it would be launching for the PlayStation 4 and PC on the 19th of November. With all that in mind, it's best that the game finally releases before the developer even begins thinking about porting
Shenmue III to other consoles.
While Deep Silver did confirm that there are no plans to bring
Shenmue III to the Xbox One, we should still wait until the game releases before we take this as an absolute confirmation. Hopefully there's still hope for Xbox One players who desperately want to play this long-awaited sequel in Sega's acclaimed
Shenmue series.
Shenmue III sees the continuation of the epic story-driven saga. The player controls teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki as he investigates his father's murder.
Shenmue III will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC on the 19th of November.
