Throughout the past week, illustrious video game director Hideo Kojima has shared cryptic teaser images via his social media. Each of the enigmas, thus far, have featured an anonymous woman with her facial features obscured. The first was accompanied by the caption, "Who am I?" The second asked, "Where am I?"
While the latter still remains unidentified, it was speculated that the first was American actress Elle Fanning — as mentioned in our report on the image, as you can see here. This speculation has now been confirmed by The Game Awards. The annual video game event's official Twitter page shared the "Who am I?" teaser again, but this time it's illuminated with red lighting.
The photo's caption reads, "Actress Elle Fanning will appear in a future Hideo Kojima production," as you can see below (via @TheGameAwards):
Fanning is best known for starring in Disney's Maleficent duology and currently leads the Hulu TV series, The Great. Interestingly, Fanning also starred in The Neon Demon which was written and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who himself featured as the character Heartman in the most recent Kojima Productions game, Death Stranding.
Fanning's identity isn't all that we can ascertain from this new development, though. We mentioned in our prior reports that it's unknown if these teasers pertain to a game, movie, or even TV show — as those are mediums that Kojima has mentioned he will explore at some point. However, this new image confirms that the teasers are to do with a video game; "A Hideo Kojima Game," is written at the upper-right.
What's more, this all but confirms that whatever this Kojima Productions project may be, most likely a sequel to Death Stranding, it will be revealed at The Game Awards ceremony in December. Be sure to stay posted for further developments.
