Voice actress Julie Nathanson has been in the world of animation for decades, lending her voice to classic cartoons like Johnny Bravo and The Powerpuff Girls to hit video games like Far Cry 5 and Final Fantasy XIII-2. If there has been a hit show or game, there is a very high chance that you've heard Julie's voice at some point.

She is also very well versed in the world of Marvel and DC, voicing the Silver Banshee in Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay and Yelena Belova in Avengers Assemble. However, she has also been apart of some little known comic book titles in the world of video games.

In 2004, Marvel released The Punisher for the PS2, a third person shooter revolving the titular character. In the game, Julie voiced multiple characters, including Joan, Lt. Molly von Richtofen, and the Central Park Zoo announcer! Recently, I was able to catch up with her and ask her about the time she spent on the game, and her answer was both fun and surprising!

If you're interested in hearing more of her stories (and voices), make sure to give a listen to Literary Joe's Inner Child Podcast episode where we both talk to her about her career and new project, Ride Share. We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

15m 23s Literary Joe: You've had so many credits. I know Nick talked about how you were in the Punisher video game, which was maybe like a blink and you miss it thing. But Nick is a massive fan of that.

15m 36s Comic Brooks: Easily one of my favorite games growing up. I still have it outside of my living room right now. I loved playing that game. I was curious too because I've played that game so much that I was wondering what's it like from there to Avengers what's it like stepping back into the world of Marvel like, is it something that you've always had in your back pocket or is it just like, "Oh, I'm coming back."

16m 1s Julie Nathanson: Yeah. I mean, it's a weird thing. Being a voice actor is so much fun. It's so much about playtime, and if you're lucky enough to be a consistently working voice actor, sometimes it's just exciting to have the variety to just run from job to job. And I don't think I had in my mind, "Oh, I can't wait until the day I get to come back to this." And as soon as that happened, I was so excited and instantly made the connection and was thrilled. The Punisher - it's so funny - I remember, and it was a long time ago. I remember the recording session for that. I'm the PA announcer that sort of what you hear. There were moments where the player could be shooting at the speaker from which my voice would be emanating. And I remember saying something like, "Ouch that hurts my Woofers. Please stop".
