Ever been on a comment thread and where people can't help but to hate on a certain game? It's like they are possessed and even though they don't like the game they will go out of their way to hate it and make sure other people know they hate it! Some of the points are valid, but are they worth it? We examine the top five games people love to hate on. Some might be justified and others... well you decide.

5. Star Wars Battlefront.

How could a game with so much potential receive so much hatred from fans? It doesn't stem from the game itself, but more who is making it. As soon as it was announced that DICE studios would be making the game fans began to jeer at the thought. The studio most famous for the Battlefield games has been trying to convince fans that yes, it might have some similarities, but it will be a completely different game.

They are putting you in the middle of a famous Star Wars and people are complaining that it is too much like Battlefield?!? The resemblances are there, but holy cow! How do complain about a game that looks as awesome as this. You get to be in Star Wars! Nerds like me have been waiting for a game like this for forever!

4. Halo.

This seems like a game that has been in a tailspin ever since Halo 2 came out. There are still fans who prefer to play the original Halo over any of the series. Yes, it is great to relive the nostalgia of lan parties, but is it really the greatest of the series? Maybe, however, there has been some pretty awesome games along the way. Halo Reach (one of my favorites of the franchise) was even hated because it didn't feature Master Chief.

A lot of people also prefer the Bungie Halo's (we will get to Bungie in a minute) to those of 343 Industries. The most recent attack on 343 Industries came when they announced that Halo 5 will not have a split screen. They did however say that it was for another improvement on the game. Still, the split screen has been a staple of the Halo Franchise for years! It has been there since the LAN parties first began. Halo needs an adrenaline shot to revamp the potential interest that has been there since Halo 2. There have been many games, but have any had strong campaign's like Halo Reach and Halo?

The multiplayer has been a strong suit (much like another game on this list) for the franchise for a long time. A lot of people are firm believers that in order for the game to be great the PVP and PVE have to BOTH be strong. There are things to get grumpy about when it comes to Halo, but not all of it is deserved.

3. World of Warcraft.

When World of Warcraft came out I was banging on the front door with fists full of cash screaming "take my freaking money!!!" It was everything I wanted from a game. A new world that I could explore, conquer and gain pretty "epic" loot. Everything was really really fun to play. Even the first expansion was a new adventure. I'm sure there was people who complained about the game. WoW was a staple until (hotly debated) Wrath of the Lich King came out. A lot of people hated it and others loved it.

Then it got worse... Mists of Pandaria ruined the game for A LOT of players. The game was a rip off of Kung Fu Panda (trying not to go off on pandas) and many players left the game. Cataclysm was refreshing because the whole game seemed to get a little bit of a face lift, but still didn't bring back the players WoW once had. Some more recent complaints have been that there is no class diversification. All classes heal and seem like every other. The most recent statistic with Warlords of Draenor was at release the game subscribership soared to over 12 million, a high that hadn't been reached since Burning Crusade, but fizzled to a measly 5.6 million subscribers.

There is hope with Legion, but there are a lot of things that have people taking and even calling it Burning Crusade 2.0. Wait and see before passing judgement, but once again gamers may be split on Legion.

2. Destiny.

This is another game that a lot of people are split on. The "grind" Has been felt by many people, myself included, but what is there to hate about an innovative game that could change video games. The main gripes beside the grind that I've heard is the loot system, lack of variety and expansion cost.

There is no way on earth, hell or heaven that The Dark Below and House of Wolves could be worth $20 each. It is a money grab plain and simple. The loot system could have some enhancements (1st and 2nd place on PVP always get an item) and using the same maps and add a drop-ship for a chance to get a key is another things that could be fixed.

The Taken King could change a lot of those things, but don't worry those who complain about the game. Bungie will find a way to let you down. The ten year Destiny project is a work in progress. The game will get better and better. The Taken King might be the first "expansion" that adds what we've all been waiting for.

1. Call of Duty.

This is by far the biggest game that people love to hate. Every year there is a new Call of Duty. This year it was Call of Duty: Modern Black Ops Warfare... see what I did there. The biggest gripe that haters have is that the game never seems to change all that much. If you don't believe me... look at the Advanced Warfare and Black Ops III trailers. They could be the exact same game. This game is tailored for PVPers and Zombie Killers. It is evident by the DLC Content that always has four more PVP maps and a Zombie map. This will never change, sadly.

The campaigns are supremely week. Some of them have been good, however, nothing has been amazing. This franchise will continue getting all the Hate from far and wide, meanwhile, Activision will continue taking the money from the haters who secretly still play it for the Zombies.
