Fans who are still hoping for Sega and Yakuza Studio to bring the acclaimed Yakzua series to the Nintendo Switch may want to stop holding their breath, as new information suggests that this may not be the case any time soon.

During a recent interview with IGN Japan, Yakuza series Producer Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed that Yakuza games have simply not been considered for the Nintendo Switch just yet. While the statement may be vague, this doesn't mean that the games won't be ported at some point.

Now that the Yakuza series is very successfully making its way into PC — with the release of both Yakuza Kiwami games — it's fair to think that Sega could consider the Nintendo Switch as a viable platform; keeping in mind that Yakuza 1&2 HD were released for the Nintendo Wii U in August of 2013.

This is still better news than the one we got last year, when Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato said that he simply thought that the Nintendo Switch wasn't the ideal platform for the Yakuza games. With all the success that the Nintendo Switch as had, however, we can only hope that Sega decides to release Yakuza for the Switch; until then, all we can do is wait.
