Before
Grand Theft Auto V released back in 2013 and managed to eventually become one of the most financially successful entertainment products of all time, there was
Grand Theft Auto IV. The action-adventure title initially released in 2008 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
It's certainly considered one of the better instalments in the popular series but it has been delisted from
Steam. Curiously,
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is still available to purchase — that being expansion packs for
Grand Theft Auto IV. This was pointed out by Twitter user
@Nitomatta and we can only speculate why the title is no longer available.
It seems that the most rational reason why
Grand Theft Auto IV has been delisted from Steam is on account of licensing rights — specifically in regards to the music that the game includes. However, some people seem to think that the delisting could mean that there's a PC remaster in the works — though, that seems infinitely less likely.
Here's hoping it will be restored in the near future.
