As more and more publishers and developers attempt to shoehorn microtransactions and loot boxes into their games as a way to feed the bottom line and keep investors happy, CD Projekt RED has denied allegations they would do the same with their upcoming game
Cyberpunk 2077.
Responding to a
YouTube video from Pretty Good Gaming alleging that CD Projekt RED was considering "games as a service" for
Cyberpunk 2077, the developer assured their highly-anticipated sci-fi noir will remain a "huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG" and with "no hidden catch."
CD Projekt RED has always been up-front and honest about their games, and The Witch 3: Wild Hunt is a great example of how they'd presumably handle add-on content for Cyberpunk 2077 - through robust, quality expansions.
CD Projekt RED has yet to announce a release date, with the developer mostly opting to go with the "when its done" line. Given that the game was announced all the way back 2012, a safe guess could be in late 2018 or early 209.
