Hello Games' No Man's Sky is a rousing success, despite current issues with lag on the PS4 and game-crashing bugs on the PC version. Still, gamers across both platforms have pretty much nothing but praise for the indie game. That has translated to No Man's Sky becoming the second biggest PS4 launch for Sony behind Uncharted 4.
And in terms of the company's launch of new franchises across all of its gaming systems going all the way back to the 1994 debut of the PlayStation, No Man's Sky ranks fifth behind Destiny (PS3/PS4), Watch Dogs (PS3/PS4), The Getaway (PS2) and The Last of Us (PS3).
For PC gamers, No Man's Sky is the biggest launch of 2016 on Steam, with
PC Gamer documenting that the game had a peak of 212,620 users at launch. That's 46% more than the second biggest steam game of the year, XCOM 2, which had a peak of 133,022 users at its launch.
