Hearthstone is Blizzard’s highly acclaimed digital strategy card game that’s easy to learn and massively fun. As of May 2017, Blizzard has reported more than 70 million Hearthstone players, easily topping similar games like Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends and the ultimately cancelled Might and Magic Duel of Champions. Yesterday, we learned more about the game's future.
Tuesday's leak suggested that the next Hearthstone expansion is titled The Boomsday Project featuring a new mechanic called Magnetic, a series of Omega cards and a series of Project cards. Blizzard decided to address the unfortunate leak and has officially announced the DLC. The company confirmed that The Project releases August 7, 2018, bringing some pretty diverse content to the basic game.
The Boomsday Project will offer 135 new cards to add to your collection, the unbridled power of Legendary Spells, a new mechanic called Magnetic and a puzzle mode, a free single-player repeatable content where you put your analytic skills to the test. As always, Blizzard is also offering one-time pre-order bundles. For $50, you can get a 50-pack Boomsday bundle which comes with a free golden Legendary and the new Mecha-Jaraxxus card back.
