Check out how Blizzard is celebrating StarCraft's 20th Anniversary across its various games, including Heroes of the Storm, Diablo III, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and more.
On March 31, the original StarCraft will turn 20 years old, and Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating with a series of streams and in-game giveaways. The celebration will extend to all of Blizzard's other active games, offering players free skins and in-game rewards. Best of all, you don't have to wait until March 31 to receive them.
In Overwatch you can log in anytime between now and April 3 to receive a free Sarah Kerrigan Ghost skin for Widowmaker. Check it out below.
This is just one of several cross-promotional goodies Blizzard has planned for the anniversary. Starting today you can also get portraits and decals by logging into StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2. In Diablo 3 you can receive Dominion's Revenge, a fearsome Battlecruiser-themed pet.
If you login to Heroes of the Storm between March 27 and April 7, you can receive a 20th Anniversary Portrait for Protoss, Terran, and Zerg. Hearthstone will have a StarCraft-inspired Tavern Brawl that if you play between March 21 and March 25 you will receive three Kobolds & Catacombs packs. Finally, in World of Warcraft, if you "/salute" one of the following StarCraft-themed companion pets — Zergling, Grunty, Mini Thor, Baneling, or Zeradar — between March 31 and April 6 you will receive the "Salute to StarCraft" Feat of Strength.
Those are all the free giveaways planned. Blizzard also plans to host an anniversary stream on March 30 and March 31, featuring popular StarCraft personalities on Twitch. On March 31, Blizzard will also release a video feature on YouTube titled StarCraft is Life: A Celebration, featuring “StarCraft’s biggest fans” as they “look back on their favorite memories from the past 20 years.”
