A few days ago,
we reported that Gearbox Software's long-rumored Borderlands 3 won't be presented at E3 2018, despite being leaked by Walmart Canada among
Gears of War 5 and
Rage 2, which has turned out to be (sur)real. But fans of the studio should not lose hope, as PR Manager Austin Malcolm confirmed that the developer responsible for
Aliens: Colonial Marines,
Duke Nukem Forever, and the
Brother in Arms series will show us something during the E3.
The latest fiscal report published on Wednesday by Take-Two Interactive Software, the owner of Rockstar Games and 2K Games confirmed that one of the company's franchises has been pushed back to 2020. "
The highly-anticipated title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises, which had been planned for release during the current fiscal year, is now planned for launch during fiscal 2020 to allow for additional development time," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. ;"
We remain as excited as ever about this title, and expect it to enhance our results next fiscal year."
There's a relatively small chance that Zelnick was talking about the next chapter of the
Bioshock series, but
Borderlands 3 is a safer bet, considering that Gearbox's CEO Randy Pitchford said in September that 90% of the studio is “
working on the thing you want us to be working on.” And it won't be a huge exaggeration to say that most of the fans would love to return to Pandora as soon as possible.
