The epic conclusion of Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds is nearly here. ArenaNet has announced that the final chapter of the 2024 expansion will launch on Tuesday, June 3, bringing a climactic end to the conflict with the titans of Janthir. Titled Absolution, this quarterly content drop delivers a massive new story chapter, explorable zone, large-scale boss fights, and expanded homestead features are all free for players who own Janthir Wilds.

Here is a look at what you can expect in the upcoming content from an official trailer posted on the Guild Wars 2 Youtube channel.

Face the Titans in Bava Nisos and Conquer the Mists Gate

At the heart of the new content lies Bava Nisos, a long-forgotten city once built by the mursaat, now ravaged by magic over 300 years. Players will explore this new open-world map, culminating in a map-wide meta event that leads to the Mists Gate, the center of the titan invasion. Here, players will uncover the secrets of the primordial egress and confront the threats beyond.

A new world boss, Titan Ura, joins the Convergence game mode, supporting up to 50-player squads. The battle promises to be one of the most intense encounters yet, requiring tight coordination and mastery of Tyria’s endgame systems.

Enter the Past in the New Fractal: Kinfall

The Kinfall fractal introduces a lore-rich experience where players take control of lowland Kodan, reliving a pivotal moment in their history the first whispers of Elder Dragon Jormag. This haunting memory event acts as a prelude to the Kodan’s migration to the Janthir Wilds and ties directly into the larger saga of Tyria’s ancient powers.

Expanded Homesteads and Legendary Rewards

Player Homesteads are also receiving a major upgrade. The decoration limit doubles from 1,000 to 2,000, giving players more freedom to create their ideal sanctuary. A new mastery cap of 500 also allows for the creation of unique decorative items through expanded crafting options.

Content that is also launching alongside the finale are:

  • A legendary backpack and glider
  • Two new weapon sets
  • Additional relics
  • A refreshed Wizard’s Vault reward pool

How To Access

The Absolution update is free for all players who own the Janthir Wilds expansion. Simply log in on or after June 3 to experience the final chapter of this year’s content cycle.
