Riot Games and Marvel Comics are again teaming up for a new comic book series inspired by the popular MOBA
League of Legends. Coming off their first collaboration which was a series of comics about Ashe, the new focus will be on Luxanna "Lux" Crownguard, of Demacia.
Debuting next month, League of Legends: Lux will follow the Lady of Luminosity on
"a journey of self-discovery as she begins to exhibit her magical abilities - and attempt to keep them under control." As a mage with magical abilities, Lux is forced to hide while in her home kingdom of Demacia, which has outlawed magic.
The upcoming series — written by John O’Bryan with art by Tan Studios, penciling by Billy Tan, inks by Haining, and colors by Gadson — will delve into Demacia's rich history and feature appearances from other league of Legends champions, including Garen and Sylas, as they also explore their relationships with Lux.
As mentioned,
League of Legends: Lux will be the second comic book series collaboration between Marvel Comics and Riot Games, following on the heels of
League of Legends: Ashe - Warmother, which debuted earlier this year.
In the shining city of Demacia, order reigns. The realm is safe and the people are happy unless you’re a mage. In a place where magic is outlawed, Luxanna Crownguard must hide who she truly is when she begins to exhibit magical powers.
League of Legends is known for its rich history and deep lore, and
League of Legends: Lux will expand upon the character's background through a five issue mini-series. The first issue will hit shelves on May 8, 2019 with issues releasing monthly thereafter.
