After undergoing a complete visual and gameplay update, which included a rework of his abilities, Pantheon is about to rise anew in
League of Legends. The former Artisan of War is now known as the Unbreakable Spear, and he's ready to crash through the enemy frontline. Riot announced the new and improved Pantheon will be released with patch 9.16, which is scheduled for August 14.
While Pantheon will still feel familiar, his ability kit has been modernized to encourage more active, skillful play. His Comet Spear (Q) is now a skill shot. Shield Vault (W) and Aegis Assault (E) are essentially new names for the same previous abilities. His most noticable difference is his ultimate (R) which has been slightly adjusted; he no longer lands vertically but instead comes crashing in on an angle. Pantheon also has a new passive mechanic, Mortal Will. Auto attacks will give Pantheon stacks and when he reaches five, each of his abilities gain a special bonus.
Riot just released patch 9.15 earlier this week and also kicked off the
PROJECT 2019 event, which contains brand new skins for Pyke, Irelia, Akali, Jinx, and Warwick. They also announced that Teamfight Tactics is becoming a permanent mode and that they will be removing Twisted Treeline at the end of the season.
