League of Legends can be one of the most challenging PC games to master. With its emphasis on team-based tactics, efficiency at one of its over 140 characters, and the added pressure of being on top of the mission objectives, LoL is one of the most demanding MOBA games out right now.
However, even the greats started from somewhere, and now, with the help of Red Bull, amateur players will have an opportunity to show off their skills in the Red Bull Solo Q! With Qualifiers underway now, players will break from the traditional 5v5 setup and go head to head in 1v1 battles that, if they win, can earn them a place in the finals.
Right now, the qualifiers are being held in the US and Canada, and Leaderboard 1 will be now through 9/20, while L2 will be from 9/21-10/4, L3 from 10/5-10/18, and L4 from 10/19-11/1. To get further into the action, Red Bull has released special edition cans that feature two pro players named Conqueror Alistar and Yasuo. In each can, there will be a code that allows players the opportunity to enter the competition and earn a unique summoner icon.
Those who make it to the top will earn bragging rights, prizes, and the coveted Red Bull Solo Q trophy. A small infographic can also be seen below that properly breaks down the event for newcomers. We would love to hear your thoughts on the competition in the comments below!
