Following the release of
League of Legends patch 9.16, which added four new champions — Camille, Jayce, Vi, and Jinx — Epic wasted no time in revealing the next new champion who will be making the jump from Summoner's Rift to Teamfight Tactics.
In a preview on Twitter, Riot shared a brief video featuring Pantheon, the Unbreakable Spear, fighting alongside Shyvana and Aurelion Sol. The developer confirmed Pantheon will have the the "Guardian" and "Dragon" trait. However, it's unclear if any of classes will change as a result of his addition.
Currently, the Dragon comp requires two dragons to obtain the buff that makes them immune to 83% Magic Damage." As it stands, there are only two dragon champions in TFT right now: Shyvana and Aurelion Sol.
There are also only two Guardian champions in the game right now: Braum and Leona. Having both grants allies adjacent to a Guardian unit +50 armor.
Pantheon's addition to the mode likely means more flexibility and options for those trying to build towards either comp.
Pantheon
recently underwent a complete visual and gameplay overhaul for the normal Summoner's Rift. His ability in Teamfight Tactics seems to reflect the change to his ultimate, Grand Starfall, in which he leaps into the air and then comes crashing down at an angle into the enemy.
Riot didn't say when Pantheon will be added to Teamfight Tactics.
