Metro: Exodus is one of the most anticipated titles for 2019 and, as is often the case with multiplatform titles, the best visual performance will be in the PC version. Since the existence of the title became official, 4A Games has insisted on the great work that is being done on the graphic level.
A few months after its arrival, it was possible to have access to the demo of the most recent version. In the framework of gamescom 2018, the German site PCGamesHardware revealed information about the PC version.
After testing the Metro: Exodus demo in its PC version, the German site revealed important details about it. Initially, the report states that the new title of the franchise will feature Nvidia's HairWorks and PhysX technology, the first of a few titles in recent years and whose antecedent is Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition.
Nvidia HairWorks technology focuses on the hair of the characters using the power of GPUs together with DirectX 11 tiling, with the aim of presenting a dynamic and appropriate aspect to the lighting conditions of the scenarios.
One of the most important references regarding the use of this technology is Call of Duty: Ghosts. On the other hand, the support of Metro: Exodus for PhysX technology is expected to present improvements since it has accompanied the series in its 2 previous installments. In case you did not know, Nvidia's PhysX technology refers to a physics engine whose objective is to achieve a level of realism of the highest quality, emphasizing interaction with environments.
Although 4A Games is expected to achieve good results with the use of the aforementioned Nvidia technologies, there are still some doubts regarding RTX. According to the report of the German site, Metros: Exodus reached an optimum performance of frames per second at a 4K resolution while running on a GTX 1080Ti GPU without RTX technology.
However, in the demo that did use this technology, supported by an RTX 2080Ti GPU, it was difficult to maintain the stability of 60 fps at 1080p, so the expectation is that optimization will improve.
Metro: Exodus will arrive on February 22, 2019 to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
