Over 23 minutes of brand-new gameplay footage from
Phoenix Point's latest build have been released online by Snapshot Games. While said video was shown for the first time at the EGX Rezzed show in London in April, it's rather safe to say that the general public hasn't had a chance to watch it before.
At its core, Snapshot Games'
Phoenix Point is a turn-based squad tactics game from Julian Gollop, one of the masterminds behind the long-running
X-COM series. As a reminder, the highly anticipated strategy is coming to PC at some point this September as another timed Epic Games Store exclusive – so you won't be able to purchase it it on GOG, Discord, or Steam at least until after September 2020.
According to Gollop,
Phoenix Point will combine the gameplay mechanics of
Crusader Kings 2 with the scale and depth of
Civilization V – hopefully delivering a mesmerizing (and unique) gaming experience.
Be sure to take a look at the latest build of
Phoenix Point in over 20 minutes of all-new footage below:
The human population has been decimated. Survivors gather in isolated havens spread throughout the world. A few factions control most of the havens and resources, but they have radically contrasting ideologies and guard deep secrets. The Phoenix Project is a worldwide organization designed to be activated when the world is in peril. You control one cell, gathering some of the world’s best scientists, engineers and soldiers. After your cell is activated, you realize that you have no contact with any other cells. You need to find out what happened to them.
Phoenix Point is coming to Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS in September.
