Nothing says "new year, new WAAAGH!" quite like a horde of greenskins smashing through a Space Marine vessel. Deep Silver and KING Art Games just fired the starting gun on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV's hype train with the first of four in-game CGI narrative sequences and yeah, of course it's the Orks crashing the party, loud, reckless, and ready to trash some stuff.
Titled simply but brutally effective, this Ork CGI trailer puts the spotlight on Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unter, the infamous Warboss of the Bad Moons clan. Fans of the original Dawn of War and its Dark Crusade expansion will remember him as that unkillable git who headbutted his way through campaigns, collecting trophies from every faction dumb enough to cross him. Here, Gorgutz launches a surprise boarding assault on a Blood Ravens strike cruiser orbiting the war-torn world of Kronus a nod back to Dawn of War: Dark Crusade's iconic planet-conquering map. Check out the video below:
The sequence hits hard right out the gate: Orks teleport aboard in a storm of dakka, clashing with desperate Blood Ravens defenders. Chief Librarian Jonah Orion unleashes psychic fury, vaporizing greenskins left and right, while Captain Cyrus, veteran sniper extraordinaire picks off boyz from a fortified perch. The corridors run red (or green), as the ship groans under plasma fire and choppa swings, and Gorgutz himself barrels through like a freight train with a power klaw. As systems fail and hull breaches widen, the Ravens have no choice but to abandon ship. They sent drop pods screaming toward Kronus' surface. But the Orks? They're right behind and on the chase, promising ground-pounding carnage to come. Clocking in at just over two minutes, the trailer's in-engine visuals pop with that grimdark grit: flickering red emergency lights, gore-splattered bulkheads, and Ork roars that rattle your speakers. It's not just fan service it's a teaser for the Ork campaign, chronologically first in the game's four non-linear storylines, each tied to one playable faction.
Dawn of War IV, slated for a full 2026 PC release via Steam, picks up the RTS torch Relic Entertainment lit back in 2004. KING Art Games (Pilgrims of New World, Iron Harvest) steps in with Deep Silver publishing, promising a "faithful recreation" of the 40k universe: base-building, swarm armies, cover-shooting infantry, and those epic unit clashes that made the series legendary. Four factions return (Orks confirmed, Blood Ravens/Space Marines implied), plus newcomers like the Adeptus Mechanicus in their debut expect oily cyborgs and Skitarii hordes.
Beyond the single player's 70+ mission sprawl, multiplayer gets tense 1v1s to massive free-for-alls, co-op raids, and fan-faves like Last Stand (tower defense vs. AI waves) and Skirmish. Early hands-on previews from Gamescom 2025 raved about the scale planet-spanning maps, destructible environments, and AI that actually flanks instead of Zerg-rushing.
Three more CGI trailers are coming, one per faction, building hype up to launch. If Orks set this bar, expect Eldar intrigue, Tyranid swarms, or Chaos betrayal next. For now, crank the trailer on YouTube and let the hype build. In the grim darkness of 2026, there is only... more Dawn of War. And damn, it looks pretty good.
