An alleged BlizzCon 2026 panel schedule has spread from Reddit and YouTube, and the line that jumped out first for strategy fans is "StarCraft Infantry." The image is being treated across the community as a possible look at this year’s show, but it has not been confirmed by Blizzard and should be read as an unverified leak.
BlizzCon itself is real and official. The event returns to the Anaheim Convention Center on September 12 and 13, 2026, the first in-person BlizzCon since 2023. Celebrity guests, Classic Cup matches, and in-game goodies have already been announced. What has not been published is the full panel schedule. Blizzard’s event site still says that schedule is coming soon.
The circulating image places a StarCraft Infantry reveal immediately after the Opening Ceremony, then adds a later "World & Lore" panel for the same project. The rest of the alleged slate reads like a greatest-hits list of recent Blizzard rumors:
- A World of Warcraft segment focused on Northrend, widely interpreted as a look at The Last Titan
- A Diablo 4 "What’s Next" panel
- A Deep Dive for "Warcraft Fables," which some players are connecting to the long-rumored Classic+ project
- A "Meet the Teams" slot for "Warcraft Chronicles," often read as a Warcraft RTS (but not sure)
- Overwatch and Hearthstone panels on the following day
That combination is exactly why many people are skeptical. It packages almost every major community hope into one tidy grid. Icy Veins described it as a mix of known information, older leaks, and wishful thinking, and noted that getting a new StarCraft game, Classic+, and a Warcraft RTS all at one show would be an unusually packed announcement slate.
The specific name "StarCraft Infantry" appears only in this leak so far. There is no official product page, trademark confirmation tied to that title, or Blizzard statement using it.
A StarCraft shooter, however, is not a new rumor. Jason Schreier reported in his book Play Nice that Blizzard had a StarCraft shooter in development, with former Far Cry producer Dan Hay attached at the time of writing. Windows Central later said a StarCraft third-person shooter was likely to be a BlizzCon 2026 headline. Those reports predate the image and do not use the Infantry name. They also come with an important caveat that Blizzard has canceled StarCraft shooters before, most famously StarCraft: Ghost.
So the honest truth is this: a new StarCraft game, possibly a shooter, has independent reporting behind it. The title StarCraft Infantry and the detailed hour-by-hour schedule do not. Before you get your hopes up, remember that it is not confirmed and it probably not real. If it turns out to be real, then that is awesome and we get more Starcraft!
What Blizzard has officially put on the 2026 show is more modest and more certain. Simu Liu is scheduled to play in a Classic Cup StarCraft II entertainment match and join the casting desk. Legacy matches include StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II exhibition games. Those bookings prove StarCraft still has a place on the show floor. They do not prove a new game reveal.
Blizzard’s history also matters here. Past official schedules have included generic "What’s Next" and "Deep Dive" language without promising a new IP on the same poster. An early-September schedule drop would match how the 2023 show was handled. Until that official grid appears, any graphic is just a graphic.
The Reddit thread and the YouTube breakdowns are covering a real circulating document, not a made-up screenshot that nobody has seen. That does not make the document authentic. Treat StarCraft Infantry as an alleged project name attached to a larger unverified schedule. Treat the broader StarCraft shooter rumor as older, better-sourced, and still unconfirmed. The only firm dates on the calendar are September 12 and 13 in Anaheim. If Infantry is real, Blizzard will have to say so in public. Until then, it is a leak, not a reveal.
