Earlier today from BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc.'s Official site, they announced the Open Beta Testing phase for their upcoming game, Black Clover: Quartet Knights, which will take place on August 17th - August 20th later this month for the Playstation 4.
The game looks to blend Third-Person character controls with a 4v4 MOBA, or Multiplay Online Battle Arena, genre. There are four different character types, each with their own strengths and weaknesses:
-
Fighter class -- The aggressive melee class.
-
Shooter class -- Long range damage dealer.
-
Support class -- Helps buff their own team, or debuff the enemy team, giving their team advantages in situations.
-
Healer class -- Self-explanatory; either replenishes life to comrades, some characters with the ability to resurrect.
So far the game has 14 characters to play from for the Open Beta Test, each fitting into one of those four classes, and it is unknown if more characters will be available at launch.
Here's the "Overview Trailer" covering some of the basics of the game:
Black Clover: Quartet Knights is based off a fantasy shonen manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata. It was first released in February of 2015, and is still ongoing, currently on its 17th volume. It also has an anime series that started last year and has just reached its 50th episode.
"The next great saga of hope, courage and determination! In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent’s spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King. Giving up is never an option!"
