Spyro the Dragon is a game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony that initially came out for the PlayStation 1 back in 1998. The game stars a dragon named Spyro who goes on a quest to rescue his other dragon friends and defeat the evil Gnasty Gnorc.
The game saw two other sequels—on the PlayStation 1—in the form of
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon, which are now included all in one package in
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. The trilogy not only includes all 3 classic PlayStation 1 games but also are completely programed from the ground up with stunning visuals in the same fashion as the
Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy was.
The latest video by PlayStation Access compares the original
Spyro the Dragon to the remade version of the game in
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, as well as showing off the new graphics and pointing out a few details that were included in the game.
As an interesting detail, all dragons Spyro encounters have been completely redesigned since the original
Spyro the Dragon had only a bunch of models for the dragons, thus making them all look pretty much the same.
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy has given the dragons unique personalities that also seem to tell, design-wise, a story that enriches the whole world.
