In less than a month's time,
Death Stranding will finally be released almost three years after it was initially revealed. Despite how long the game has been within the public consciousness, for the most part, it's still shrouded in mystery.
However, with the game's release fast approaching, some new information has been revealed on the more technical side of things. Product listings at most outlets (one of those being
Best Buy) have been updated to state just how big of a chunk the upcoming and highly anticipated game will take up of your PlayStation 4's storage.
Death Stranding's file size is 55 gigabytes which, in a world of increasingly hefty file sizes, isn't too much. It's pretty standard when compared to titles like
Red Dead Redemption 2 or
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which each take up over 100GB —
though the latter of those is still up for debate.
As well, the listings reveal that the multiplayer aspects of
Death Stranding will be optional. This could be seen as both expected and surprising considering that we don't know a whole lot about the multiplayer side of the upcoming game — though it's more likely the former as we already knew that
a subscription to PlayStation Plus won't be a necessity for Death Stranding.
Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.
Death Stranding will be available for the PlayStation 4 on the November 8th, 2019.
