Sucker Punch's recently released Ghost of Tsushima has been doing pretty well since its launch last Friday. Upon releasing, the game was praised by critics and mainstream players, and has also been selling remarkably well.
Ghost of Tsushima is the last first-party title for the PlayStation 4, and a very nice send-off from Sucker Punch. In fact, Sucker Punch's InFamous Second Son is often credited to have given the PlayStation 4 the extra oomph at launch; even when the game was released a few months after the console's release.
Now, the PlayStation community has thanked Sucker Punch in full, as it has been officially revealed that the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima is now the fastest-selling original intellectual property on the PlayStation 4 — with over a very impressive 2.4 million copies worldwide in its first 3 days since launch.
Ghost of Tsushima had already managed to top the sales charts in the United Kingdom, and was also revealed to have sold over 220 thousand copies in Japan as the best launch week sales for any first-party title on the PlayStation 4. Needless to say, Ghost of Tsushima is exceeding all expectations — which is always great news for both developers and players alike.
The developers over at Sucker Punch took to Twitter to express their gratitude, and thanking all of those who have already had a chance to play, and support Ghost of Tsushima.
In 1274, the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima and slaughters its legendary samurai defenders. Jin Sakai is one of the last survivors of a noble samurai clan. To combat his overwhelming foes, he must pioneer deadly new fighting techniques--the way of The Ghost--and wage an unconventional war for the people of Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
