Judgment is a
Yakuza series' spin-off action adventure title developed by Ryū ga Gotoku — which is, obviously, the same studio that developed every single one of the games in Sega's acclaimed
Yakuza series — coming out exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
While there have been some issues surrounding the game in Japan — mainly because one of the
voice actors was arrested due to drug abuse —none of these problems actually delayed the release overseas; keeping in mind that the game was released last year in Japan.
As mentioned above,
Judgment's only big change, that Western players will probably not even notice, is that Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio worked hard to completely remove the voice actor and replace his character's likeness to one of the new voice actor; other than that, it is exactly the same experience.
Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku's
Judgment has finally become available today, and the developer has shared two launch trailers — one with the Japanese voice over and the other with the English voice over — that feature some gameplay that players will immediately recognize from the
Yakuza series, as the game borrows quite a bunch of gameplay mechanics from the series it stems from.
Checdk it out:
SEGA of America is proud to announce that the new courtroom thriller from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, Project JUDGE (working title), will release in 2019 on the PlayStation®4. Project JUDGE will feature the voice acting talents of Japanese actor/artist Takuya Kimura as the game's main protagonist, Takayuki Yagami.
Judgment is available for the PlayStation 4 today.
