When Sony revealed the DualSense as the PlayStation 5's brand-new controller, leaving behind the DualShock moniker, players were excited to see the controller's new design, but also curious whether Sony would also be revealing a black version, since the DualSense was revealed to be white and black.
Eventually sony unveiled the PlayStation 5 itself, and the console was also revealed to be black and white. Again, not a big deal, but players are used to PlayStation consoles to be black, and the PS5 being white made everybody wonder if Sony would even be making a more traditional-looking variant of the new console and new controller.
Today some images have leaked, which may be giving us our first unofficial look at the all-black variant of the DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5. It is worth mentioning, however, that the source of these images is unknown, and could well be fake.
As shown in these leaked images, the PlayStation 5's all-black DualSense controller is, well, completely black except for the buttons, which seem to be the exact same transparent-looking buttons and directional pad seen in the official controller.
While the controller isn't ugly per se, fans have been doing a far better job coming up with their own mockups of what they believe a black DualSense controller should look like, and these leaked images have some fans disappointed in this new design; was the controller in these images to be confirmed, of course.
A State of Play presentation is expected to be livestreamed tomorrow, and maybe Sony will be giving us our first look at the PlayStation 5's black variant — although they did mention that no big announcements regarding the PlayStation 5 will be made today. With that said, a new variant being revealed wouldn't really be considered a big announcement, though.
