Summer is practically here, and what better way to stay cool than hang out inside and game all day? Sony just revealed the PlayStation Plus lineup for the month of June, and we've got three free games headed our way.
June's PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup is all about playing with others, featuring three free titles that encourage multiplayer gameplay. Beginning Tuesday, June 2, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. All three games will be available to play on PS5, while Grounded and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 will also be playable on PS4.
Grounded Fully Yoked Edition is the definitive version of Obsidian Entertainment's cooperative survival game in which you shrink down to the size of an ant and explore the wild garden backyards. Explore, build, and survive on your own or with friends, while uncovering certain mysteries, like how you wound up so small, and who did this to you. As a survival game, you'll need to gather resources, build shelter, and crafter armor and weapons to protect yourself from the perils of the backyard.
Released alongside update 1.4 two years ago, Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition is considered the final edition of the game. It introduced New Game+, Ant Queens, new items and tools, baby ant pets, and crossplay, among other things.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a crossover platform fighting game clearly inspired by Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The goal is pretty simple: damage your opponents and knock them off the stage. The game features characters from all corners of Nickelodeon television, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Loud House, and Jimmy Neutron.
The third and final free game for June will be Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and it's probably the best of the bunch. In this brutal four-player co-op focused game, you'll play as prisoners recruited by the Imperium's Inquisition to fight back against the cultists, zombies, mutants, and Chaos followers who have overrun Tertium.
While gameplay has been compared to games like Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood, what makes Darktide stand out is its heavy gunplay, visceral melee combat, and constant swarm of enemies. While Warhammer 40,000: Darktide got off to a rough start when it launched back in 2022, developer Fatshark spent years improving it, adding new missions and game modes, improving crafting, and completely overhauling classes.
In addition to these three games, EA Sports FC 26, which was originally part of May's PS Plus lineup, will remain available for PlayStation Plus members through June 16.
