God of War is chock-full of content - the world is massive and filled with awesome side quests and hidden stories just waiting to be found. With this in mind; players have made great efforts to discover everything the game has to offer - They've almost succeeded, almost.
Apparently there's at least one secret remaing within the game, which game director Cory Barlog believes is yet to be discovered. Barlog told
GamingBolt:
Ooh, wow. No, I really, really believed the sweet live action game I put into the collector’s edition would be something that would take players a while to figure out. I think the only thing they didn’t figure out is that the two toy pieces of Brok and Sindri have little markings on the bottom of them, and the intent was to actually put them on the correct position on the map, and to have them walk the journey. So people didn’t realize that you could have them walk that journey on the map, and then reach that point, and that between them, that secret treasure was hidden.
And I love that secret, and I had to keep it secret from most of the team, simply because I knew, the more people knew about it, the easier it would be to leak.
However, there is still one hidden secret, within the game itself, that remains allusive.
I always think that people usually figure things out within hours, and the fact that we went a week without people figuring things out was impressive. It would be like the nuclear disarmament cinematic in Metal Gear that only got leaked because of a bug or something, and it probably would have gone unnoticed beyond that otherwise… I don’t think I have anything as amazingly meta as that.
But I still think there is one thing that no one has found yet that I know for certain, because I haven’t seen any stories about it. Now I’m not going to tell you what that is, but I don’t know if there’s any cinematics per se, it seems like people have been able to get all the permutations. Not one person, but everyone collectively.
Who knows just what that secret could be. It seems that it's time, again, to jump back into the game and finally uncover this evasive and intriguing mystery.
