The Last of Us is in the midst of being adapted into a television series for and by HBO. Neil Druckmann reprises the role of writer for the series, working alongside the writer of the acclaimed Chernobyl television series, Craig Mazin. Pedro Pascal stars as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. They're best known for The Mandalorian and Game of Thrones, respectively.
Storm Reid is an actress best known for starring in A Wrinkle in Time and as, Rue's sister, Gia in HBO series Euphoria. Reid recently arrived in Canada, at the same time that the crew of The Last of Us television series arrived there to resume production (via ComicBookMovie.com). What's more, Reid and Ramsey follow each other on Instagram.
If that's not enough to convince you that Reid will feature in the series, her mother posted a message to Instagram upon arriving in Canada and verbatim mentioned a "popular video game turned into a television series." If that isn't referring to The Last of Us, we don't know what she's referring to.
Seeing as Reid matches the physical description of the character of Riley from The Last of Us: Left Behind and she's the same age as Ramsey, fans are convinced that she will be playing Ellie's love interest in the series. That is despite Druckmann having stated that the first season of the show will focus on the events of the first The Last of Us game.
Perhaps the events of The Last of Us: Left Behind will feature through the use of flashbacks, or perhaps a whole episode will be dedicated to hopping back in time to explore the events in full. We'll just have to wait until the series debuts later this year to find out.
