Sega has announced that
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life won't be ready for its previously announced March 20th release date and now is set to launch on April 17th. The publisher's scheduling decision means that
Yakuza 6 will directly compete with another potentially huge PlayStation 4 exclusive, Sony Santa Monica's
God of War which launches on April 20th.
According to a tweet from the Yakuza Game account, "This was a tough business decision we didn’t make lightly". The publisher also has some good news for the fans of the series as "on February 27, the demo for Yakuza 6 will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release. This will be the first time everyone will have a chance to play the game (a moment we have long been anticipating!) and we can’t wait to hear what you think about it. We have many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series, so stay tuned!"
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be available only for PlayStation 4 and is supposedly the final chapter of Kazuma Kiryu's adventures.
The Dragon of Dojima will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family - be those ties through blood or bond - when Yakuza 6: The Song of Life releases in the West. The game is coming to consoles only on PlayStation 4, and thanks to the new "Dragon Engine," is the most advanced Yakuza title to date. From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration of the series' blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer.
